Weltweit gibt es HPV-Organisationen, die der Liegerad-Szene nahestehen. Neben dem jedem Fahrradfahrer in Deutschland hoffentlich bekanntem ADFC (Allgemeiner Deutscher Fahrrad-Club) und VCD (Verkehrsclub Deutschland) gibt es weitere Initiativen, die das Fahrrad als umweltfreundiches Transportmittel und Element von Verkehrskonzepten fördern, während andere damit Entwicklungsländer unterstützen wollen. Pedalkraft inspiriert weiterhin zur alternativen Energiegewinnung für Geräte und Maschinen.
Künstler und Musiker machen das Fahrrad zum Objekt ihrer Werke und präsentieren sich in Ausstellungen und Aufführun-
gen (faszinierend sind etwa Fahrradskulpturen). Natürlich kann auch jeder Fahrradfahrer aktiv werden und mit dem Rad z.B. Musik machen (ohne musikalische Vorkenntnisse :)

Apart from national cycling organisations other initiatives promote the bicycle as an environmentally friendly means of transport and an element of transportation concepts, others want to support developing countries. Pedal power also inspires energy generation for devices and machines.
Artists and musicians turn bikes into objects of their work and present the results in exhibitions or concerts (fascinating are bicycle sculptures). Of course every cyclist can also take action and for example make music with a bike (without prior musical education :)
